Frío Aéreo, a global benchmark in cold chain management, recognized each year the companies that handled the largest volumes of perishable goods. However, in the beginning, mango was not an easy fruit to manage within their facilities. After transportation from the packing plants to the airport, mangoes could arrive at temperatures above 30°C, making reception and processing more challenging. This made it difficult for our category to compete for this recognition.

But in 2014, after attending one of these award ceremonies, Gretel Castro and Juan Piñan set themselves a challenge: to improve operations together with Frío Aéreo. Through close collaboration, specialized chambers and access points were adapted to receive our shipments, allowing better temperature control and ensuring the freshness that distinguishes our mangoes.

The results came quickly. During the 2016–2017 campaign, we reached a historic volume of more than 3 million kilos exported, earning our first Golden Penguin Award. The recognition was repeated in 2018 and again in 2019, bringing the total to three awards that represent far more than numbers. They symbolize the ability to overcome challenges, innovate, and establish a standard of excellence in mango exports.
